ESP continuously monitors your steering and braking actions while you’re cornering and compares them to the actual vehicle path. If it senses the onset of understeer (plowing) or oversteer (fishtailing), ESP brakes individual wheels and/or reduces excess engine power, to help keep you on course.1 ESP also incorporates traction control to help control wheelspin during acceleration.
