Do not remove the toner cartridge from its package
until you are ready to use it.Toner cartridge storage
The life of the toner cartridge depends on the amount
of toner that print jobs require.
When printing text at 5% coverage, a Samsung toner
cartridge lasts an average of 10,000 pages in simplex
mode, depending on which toner cartridge is installed.
This assumes that print DENSITYand ECONOmenu

do not expose it to light.
When toner is low, faded or light area might appear
on a printed page.
You might be able to temporarily improve print quality

When toner is low, faded or light areas may appear on a printed page.
You may be able to temporarily improve print quality by redistributing the
toner. The following procedures may allow you to finish the current print job
before replacing the toner cartridge.
1Open the top cover by pushing

Cleaning the Printer
To maintain print quality, you should clean the printer.
• Never use alcohol or solvent based cleaning agents to clean the printer
as they may damage the printer casing and components.
• Never use a hard-bristled brush or abrasive pad.
To clean your printer, proceed as follows.

5If the outer casing or the paper feed guides are dirty, clean them with
a soft, clean cloth, slightly dampened with a gentle detergent.
6Clean the inside of the printer with a damp cloth.
7Replace the toner cartridge, close the top cover, plug in the power
cord, and turn the printer on.
Notes:While cleaning the printer, be careful not to touch the transfer
roller(the black, rubber roller, located underneath the toner cartridge).
Skin oils on the roller can cause print quality problems.
